I met Darlene Gomez in her offices over a year ago when she was gracious enough to spend time discussing an art project about missing and murdered Indigenous women that I’m working on with a local Diné woman. Our discussion was enormously valuable. I remain deeply impressed by Ms Gomez’s commitment to the cause of MMIW; also by her determination to the find lost daughters that the media and law enforcement often seem to have forgotten about.
