I met Melanie when a close friend was beginning a very difficult divorce case. I helped her from start to finish of her case. Not only did Melanie spend countless late hours and weekends on her case but the outcome she received was much better than expected based on the situation. She will fight for her clients with honesty and the true values needed to protect them and support them, which can be rare. I highly recommend her to any and everyone. If there we more than 5 stars, that is what I would give because she went the extra mile. Thank you, Melanie, for all you have done for my friend.

My experience with Melanie Moffitt as my attorney was extremely disappointing. I hired her to handle a custody and child support matter, but from the start, it seemed like she was more focused on what she believed was best, rather than listening to what I needed or what both parents had already agreed on. She consistently dismissed my input, even when it aligned with what the mother of my child wanted as well. Instead of moving quickly to close the case in the first month—when it could have been easily resolved—she delayed progress, added unnecessary complications, and ignored the path I asked her to take. I eventually fired her because she was not representing my best interests, and afterward she tried to make it appear in court records like she withdrew from the case on her own. Thankfully, the official court docket in Jefferson City clearly shows that I dismissed her. Melanie also presented an invoice that listed tasks that I felt were slow, excessive, and in many cases unnecessary. She failed to challenge a $900 monthly child support amount that should have been addressed immediately. She allowed months to go by without fighting for a reduction, despite the circumstances. Once I represented myself, I was able to get everything I originally asked for—quickly and without issue. In my personal opinion, her services did not benefit me or my child. I believe she made the process harder than it needed to be and added costs that weren’t justified by the results. If you're a Black parent or someone who needs a lawyer who truly listens and fights for your goals, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Melanie is 2nd to none in the courtroom. She is a nightmare to her opposing council. She knows law inside out! She has finished something in a week other lawyers said would take 6 months. She's worth every single cent. I always recommend her to anyone that needs a great lawyer!

Very unprofessional, got angry and lost her composure in my case, presented no solid evidence, her and her client falsely slandered me in the court room, if your looking for an attorney to lie for you and be dishonest in the court room she's the attorney for you. Most of these reviews are correct she does demand the win, but she can be broken and taken down with the truth. She shouldn't have a law license at all, but I guess she is a liar, so the shoe fits.
