This 1* review only for its intaker pre-legal Olivia 2 wks ago, not for its members, lawyers or its whole organization. This particular pre-legal Olivia Fajardo on 8.20.2025 Wed. abruptly cut me off without inquiring further on major important details & rushed to conclude wrongly for my case. Then she quickly in a rushed tone said "we will get you back in email in one or two weeks, probably it's me who will write you". And I immediately responded to her (under the disappointment by her entire way of how to conduct the conversation and took the case) as: "I would prefer someone, better a lawyer to call me back ASAP". She didn't respond further. Now already 14 days passed as 9.3.25 s/he's still not responding even yesterday morning I had sent two (2) major emails in titles to their wlc@ & justice@, with some follow-up snapshots and added on issues. No emails or a call reply till now. The calls to their WCL always Olivia's voice to ask you to leave a message after the 1st time she picked up the call 2 weeks ago. Does it mean it's Olivia who controls the all or a whole intake course? Is she really qualified in a legal matter or as a pre-legal to be as a 1st watch-dog on the front line to screen the victims & the cases? Really concerned her potential legal knowledges and a sharp mind in this field, & her sense of responsibility & compassion. I'hv met so many other legal entities with their intakers, the most of them, or a 98% r truly caring & responsive. Except I met a wrong specialty in them. I hope you could have a sophisticated attorney to contact me ASAP then this negative review will be removed. Thank you.
Rashida and Attorney David worked with me throughout the night, using every resource available to them to assist me. Some clinics are truly helpful but the people truly make the connecting difference and allowing me to better navigate my own situation which is part of their main purpose. Much appreciation to the two that added that difference for me Rashida and Attorney David!☺️🤌🏾💕
The one positive review here for the Workers’ Rights Clinic is by Nicholas Katz, who himself works at the clinic, which is an obvious conflict of interest. I contacted the clinic about my former employer refusing to accommodate my disabilities. I could not speak directly to an attorney on the calls. Although I sent lots of documentation ahead of my scheduled calls, the intermediary I had to use was totally unfamiliar with my case and kept making mistakes, as well as long pauses when I asked even basic questions. When I asked to speak to an actual attorney, the clinic acted as though it were a huge imposition. I finally did speak to Mr. Katz but he refused to give me any advice. When I asked if I had a strong case, he said, “No lawyer will tell you that.” What he meant was, “No lawyer will tell you that for free.” With a laugh he admitted my employer had not accommodated my disability, but I already knew that. When it came to legal advice, referring me to a law firm, etc. there was no actual assistance. Don’t waste your time with this clinic. If you think you have a case, send your details to law firms and ask if they will take your case on contingency. Trying to get help from this clinic, even if you share details to get an informed opinion, is a waste of time. I imagine the only reason any attorneys associate with this clinic is so they can put it on their CV and give the impression they are good liberals when all they really care about is advancing their careers.
The Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs has been an amazing partner fighting for justice for marginalized communities across the region. Keep up the great work!
I chose Washington lawyers committee to fight my case and She ended up putting her self in the defendants case side. I hired her to take my case for me to win it not to end up against me for the reason because the defendants lawyer offered her a certain amount to drop it and to not feel COMFORTABLE in representing me. What kind of lawyer is this? Smh
