We hoped for the best but found a completely incompetent lawyer with a team that doesn’t care about your animal. They’ll take your money alright, but as far as follow up and service, goodnight. I’d rather represent myself and my animal at that point, than to have this team of people do anything legal for my family ever again. Probably the least professional conversation with a lawyer I’ve ever heard. She should consider how much animals mean to people…. They’re family, not a statistic. 👎🏻 Thanks for nothing.

As the husband of someone who has been let down, I want to let others know of the unprofessional way that Kristina Bergstine and staff handled our case. No doubt, our dog's impoundment, was a difficult situation, however, the lack of accountability for the things which should have been handled by this firm and were not are too numerous to discount. The way in which my wife was treated during phone conversations was a true measure of the lack of understanding that this firm showed by blaming their errors on her. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We believed that ours and our animal's interest was initually handled well up and through the last court date, but subsequently too many balls were dropped with zero accountability to give them the benefit of doubt . Please think twice before trusting your loved ones to this firm

My experience with the Animal Law Firm has been one of the worst professional experiences of my life, made even more devastating by the loss of my dog. We paid a $5,000 retainer, and within just two court hearings and a few weak attempts at finding her a home, it was gone. Kristina’s assistant was consistently rude and unresponsive to my requests for accountability regarding missed paperwork and the complete lack of communication with the Denver Humane Society, where my dog was being held. Instead of taking responsibility, the firm accused me of being in the wrong. They even presented me with an option of a “rescue” that would supposedly require another $5,000 for my dog’s lifetime care. After a five-minute search of my own, I discovered that this rescue was not even accepting animals. The last phone call I had with the attorney was shocking—she was hostile and combative from the moment we began speaking. Fifteen minutes into what was supposed to be a thirty-minute call, I had to hang up just to avoid further abuse, though I have no doubt I will still be billed for the full time. For a firm that claims to fight for the underdog, they do nothing of the sort. Please, run—do not walk—away from this lawyer. At this point, I am left questioning whether my dog was ever given a fair chance, because I know that I was not.

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid This Lawyer at All Costs Hiring this lawyer has been the single worst legal and financial decision my family has ever made. We paid her $5,000, and what did we get in return? Nothing but stress, lies, and complete unprofessionalism. She claimed $1,500 of that fee was to “find Lilly a new home” — but never once followed through. The one option she kept insisting on turned out to be a shelter that was already full — which we discovered ourselves after calling directly. Her assistant was consistently rude and dismissive. On top of that, during our last phone call, the lawyer herself actually yelled at my mom. Imagine paying thousands of dollars only to be screamed at by the person who is supposed to be advocating for you. She was cold, heartless, and shockingly unprofessional. She showed up to court twice, and somehow that alone cost us $5,000? No progress, no results, and certainly no effort to help Lilly. Even animal control contacted us directly, confused — because they had never been contacted by our lawyer. Instead of owning her mistakes, she turned her anger on us. We were grieving the loss of our pet and trusted her to help us through an already devastating situation. Instead, she took advantage of us at our lowest point, offered zero empathy, and gave us nothing in return. It felt like we were scammed by someone who should have been protecting us. This lawyer does not listen. She does not care. She offers no compassion, no accountability, and no real work ethic. All she did was take our money. I’m devastated. This woman is nothing but ride and cold when you speak to her. Not someone you should trust with the life of your animal. AT ALL!!! She’s a scammer. Please do not waste your time, money, or trust with this woman. She is unprofessional, ineffective, and downright cruel. If you need a lawyer who will fight for you, look literally anywhere else.
